Tonight at the legendary PRINTED MATTER
in New York City I am doing a DJ set at the launch party for the new SEX MAGAZINE
anthology. I’ve seen this book–it’s thick and sick, plus inside there is an interview with myself plus interviews I conducted with other artists I love and admire. All of that and much more, SEX
really has been a positive force on the internet so it’s great to see it finally in physical form. Come out to the launch, I’ll play a few cozy rap songs. This one is for all the kids out there trying to stay sane as we finally shut down a fucked up 2K16.
The newest issue of New York City culture magazine SEX
is up now, and I had the pleasure of interviewing not one but two of my favorite people, friends, and artists. I’m talking B L A C K I E ALL CAPS WITH SPACES
. Both are legendary lifers who have influenced and inspired many and got a lot of stories to tell. It felt so good to talk to them about life and creativity for SEX MAGAZINE
Check out the interviews right here alongside a lot of other great pieces. I hope they inspire you to keep living and fighting for you dreams no matter what.

2014 was another crazy year deep inside THE THUNDER ZONE
and I gotta say, I’ve come out of it positive despite all the insanity and darkness. The world is a fucked up place but we can still dream. I’m still here and more siked than ever to keep doing my thing… One day at a time.
I spent a lot of time in 2014 working on a new record (HEARTLAND 99) and a new mixtape (HIGHWAY TO THE HEARTLAND) in the big city. I’m really excited to share this new music with you in 2K15. It’s all coming soon and it’s all another chapter in the neverending American pop music saga that is JUICEBOXXX and THE THUNDER ZONE.
This year I was a part of a “viral shitstorm,” played a show at MOMA PS1, toured Japan, Korea and North America and kept on releasing crazy music and culture on my label THUNDER ZONE (collaborations with Lil Ugly Mane, Schwarz, Issue, DJ George Costanza and more). In addition to that shit, I was also on the cover of NYC’s SEX MAGAZINE and had an article about me in highbrow NYC lit journal N+1. The article in N+1 was an excerpt from a book about me (WTF), coming out next year on Melville House. Noisey also had some things to say.
A lot of other shit happened too. I moved around a ton, slept on the floor behind a bar for a few months in Far Rockaway, Queens, threw some parties, lost my mind a few times… Probably also a lot of other shit I can’t remember.
I don’t know what’s going to happen but I’m keeping the faith and I’m trying to keep running and making American music for kids of all ages to freak out to. Out of the darkness my man, into THE THUNDER ZONE.
Damn, the THUNDER ZONE KICKBACK
happened recently and I forgot to tell all you guys about it! I’ve been busy “in the cut” finishing up some great new music and just fucking taking it one day at a time in the THUNDER ZONE
. What I’m not going to forget to tell you about is a sick show happening this Saturday (November 29th) at Palisades in Brooklyn New York City. THUNDER ZONE
is promoting it in association with SEX MAGAZINE
and it is going to be a goddamn banger.
Live we got JUICEBOXXX AND THE THUNDER ZONE BAND alongside SHOW ME THE BODY, who are one of my current favorite East Coast rock bands. Don’t sleep on these guys, they got a sick style all their own that feels really exciting. Headlining is legendary New York City rapper SALOMON FAYE and all night “on the 1’s and 2’s” (that means DJ-ing with a laptop) is DJ LUCAS and SHAMS.
SO FUCKING CHECK IT MAN, WHAT ELSE DO YOU GOT. FLY IN IF YOU NEED TO, ENTER THE THUNDER ZONE IF YOU NEED TO. THIS IS ALL WE GOT MAN. THIS ISN’T SOME BULLSHIT. I PROMISE YOU THAT.
is one of the best culture magazines happening right now and I’m really siked to be a part of their Summer 2014 issue. In addition to an interview (by SEX CEO Asher Penn
) those crazy motherfuckers even thought it would be a good idea to put a picture of me on the cover/splash page of the ‘zine! I’ve never been on the cover of anything before so obviously it is an honor and a privilege. Respect.
There is a ton of sick shit in this current issue, including an interview with one of my favorite artists (and THUNDER ZONE collaborator) Jacob Ciocci. So fucking check it out. Don’t sleep on the back issues too… A lot of “good reads”.
It’s looking like it’s gonna be a hot summer – stay positive out there kids.
This fall for the first time ever THE THUNDER ZONE
went on the road. Two weeks of music, video and energy drinks all across North America. Juiceboxxx, Extreme Animals and Schwarz. It was sick. Afterwards, I made 4 short documentaries about the tour and David Wightman from Extreme Animals wrote a tour diary. You can check all of that out right now over at SEX MAGAZINE
Really excited to share this and I couldn’t think of a better place than SEX MAGAZINE to do it. Stay positive and follow your dreams.
JUICEBOXXX/DJ GEORGE COSTANZA “BUSINESS AS USUAL” MAY TOUR DATES COMING SOON.
